**Definition**
A *physical quantity* is a property of a material or system that can be quantified by measurement.
Every physical quantity $Q$ can be expressed as the product of a dimensional unit, denoted by $[Q]$ and a magnitude $q$. So every *physical quantity* can be expressed in the form $Q= q[Q].$
